What a discovery you made in uncovering old friends Hobie Hippo, Suzie Squirrel, Reggie Bunny, Larney Lion, and Lester Lamb! These puppets were designed for use with the Sunday School curriculum for ages 4-5 in the late 1970s and early 1980s. They were also promoted in the curriculum for ages 2-3. I believe simple scripts were included in the packaging for the puppets. More importantly, the teacher guides for those age levels gave scripts, ideas for creating puppet “homes,” or specific directions for the use of the puppets. They were used singly, with one puppet recommended each quarter. The puppets (early ones marked Puppets By Shelly were created by Shelly Roden and a book by Shelley titled When Puppets Talk, Everybody Listens was produced.
